Luna y Cielo Play Cafe is a bilingual playroom and Spanish learning center located in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, specifically designed for families seeking culturally relevant play experiences. The 7,000 square-foot facility provides an immersive environment for children ages 6 and under to explore Latin culture through play, learning, and community connection.
The vibrant play space features traditional Latin American decor, including colorful textiles, sombreros, traditional hats, and authentic prints throughout. Children can engage with a variety of educational toys and activities that promote imaginative play while being surrounded by Spanish language and Latin cultural elements. The facility offers open play sessions where families can drop in and enjoy the playroom.
In addition to open play, Luna y Cielo provides Spanish language classes for children and adults at all levels of fluency, from beginners to advanced speakers. The center hosts special events including cultural celebrations, family storytimes, and seasonal activities. Birthday party packages are available with various themes that celebrate Latin culture.
The cafe offers a welcoming space for parents with self-served coffee, tea, and cocoa available free of charge. Families are welcome to bring in outside food from nearby local restaurants. The business was created to provide a safe space where Latine families and allies can connect with others raising bilingual children, helping to preserve language and cultural heritage across generations.
