Fox Valley Judo & Aikido – MATS (Martial Arts Training School) is a traditional martial arts dojo offering classes in the Japanese martial arts of Judo and Aikido for both children and adults. With over 30 years of history, the dojo is a close-knit and supportive community with a deep passion for these ancient forms of combat. The school believes that martial arts are much more than just physical training – they are a way of life, promoting self-discipline, respect, and personal growth.
The dojo offers comprehensive programs for all ages and skill levels. Kids Judo classes are available for ages 6-13, while Kids Aikido welcomes students ages 7-13. Adult programs include both Judo and Aikido classes throughout the week. All instructors follow the traditional values established by Judo founder Jigoro Kano (“maximum efficiency, minimum effort, and mutual welfare and benefit”) and Aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba.
Classes focus on developing physical skills, mental discipline, and character building. Students learn proper techniques, forms, and applications in a safe and encouraging environment.
