Acting Studio Chicago

Acting Studio Chicago has been serving the Chicago theatrical community since 1981 as a premier professional actor training center. The studio offers comprehensive acting classes and workshops for adults, teens, and children, from beginners to working professionals. All instruction is based on Michael Shurtleff’s 12 Guideposts methodology, providing a clear-cut technique that demystifies the actor’s process.

Classes are small, challenging, and led by industry professionals including established stage and film directors. The studio offers a wide range of programs including Core Acting Classes (Levels 1-4), Intermediate Acting, Advanced Scene Study, On-Camera Acting, Voiceover training, Classical Acting, Cold Reading, Monologue workshops, Voice and Movement classes, and Business for Actors seminars. Students benefit from workshops with Chicago Theatre and Film Casting Directors.

The studio features state-of-the-art facilities located in downtown Chicago and maintains a supportive, creative environment where students can explore their craft with guidance from experienced faculty. Studio Director Rachael Patterson takes special care to place students in classes commensurate with their skill level, ensuring personalized attention and growth at each student’s own pace.
