B.I.G. Baseball Academy

B.I.G. Baseball Academy is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing youth baseball instruction and life skills education. Founded by Keronn Walker, who also serves as a Chicago Cubs scout, the academy focuses on keeping youth baseball alive in the city while teaching valuable life lessons.

The academy operates out of their indoor facility at 3947 South Union Avenue, offering year-round baseball training programs, camps, and team opportunities. Programs emphasize skill development in hitting, fielding, pitching, and all baseball fundamentals in a professional and safe environment. The academy provides scholarships and financial assistance for players in need, making baseball accessible to all youth regardless of economic background.

B.I.G. Baseball has a strong track record of player development, with alumni including Ed Howard (drafted 16th overall by the Chicago Cubs in 2020) and Ben Hernandez (drafted 41st overall by the Kansas City Royals in 2020). The academy’s mission centers on the philosophy that baseball is “bigger than baseball” – using the sport as a platform for positive youth development, mentorship, and community building.
