Bubbles Academy – West Town

Bubbles Academy is a premier early childhood arts enrichment center and preschool that creates an urban space where parents and children are free to learn, romp, and play. The facility is designed to bring the outdoors in, providing an open space that allows creativity to flow and development to spark.

The academy offers comprehensive enrichment and education programs for children ages 0-6. Their diverse curriculum includes movement classes, music sessions, art workshops, yoga, cooking classes, dance instruction, and independence and imagination development activities. The arts-integrated approach combines content and skills from dance, music, theatre, and visual arts with developmentally appropriate early childhood learning standards and socio-emotional skills.

Children can participate in a variety of programs including parent-child classes, preschool preparation courses, gentle separation programs, and full preschool options for children aged 2.5-5 years. The academy features dedicated classrooms, large open play areas with developmentally appropriate toys and climbing structures, and separate party rooms. Open play sessions are available Monday through Saturday, providing families with opportunities for socialization and free exploration.

The facility hosts birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays with bright, whimsical spaces and various entertainment options. Summer camp programs are available for ages 2.5-5, offering a bridge to preschool or kindergarten with daily snacks and catered lunches included. The academy also provides resources for new parents, including Stroller Fitness classes, moms group meeting spaces, and educational workshops with speakers.

Bubbles Academy operates multiple locations throughout the Chicago area, including West Town, Gold Coast at 900 North Michigan Shops, Bucktown, and Highland Park. Each location features colorful, contemporary spaces with carefully curated play areas and retail selections featuring local, mom-owned businesses. The staff consists of talented teaching artists who are caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated to providing deep care to children and families.

A portion of proceeds benefits Whole Child Arts, a nonprofit that brings the Bubbles Academy class model to underserved areas at no cost. Founded in 2003 by Gregoire and Kristine Klees-Johnson, the academy’s core purpose is to ignite lifelong wonder and compassion through unique and inspirational learning experiences.
