Profile
Bunny Ears Art House is a play-based community art space founded by childhood friends Jinny Choi and Lois Song, both former Chicago Public Schools teachers, artists, and moms who bring over 30 years of creative collaboration and professional expertise. Located in Lincoln Square, this beautiful art studio celebrates the risk-takers, the mess-makers, the creators and the dreamers, providing a safe, supportive space where children can explore, grow and find joy through art.
The studio was designed with children in mind, featuring a gorgeous space where toddlers and young children can safely navigate and explore. The interior is adorable and thoughtfully planned with great care, encouraging children to play and experiment with different materials, textures, colors and techniques without the pressure of achieving a specific outcome. Every week features tons of fun interactive sensory play stations and a variety of activities to explore for all ages.
Bunny Ears offers multiple program options including weekday open art sessions (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings 10:30 AM-2:30 PM) recommended for ages 1-5 with no time limit, and Saturday Make & Play sessions. Classes are available for different age groups: ages 2-5 years old, ages 5-9 years old, and ages 9-13 years old (Tween Creative Club). Special programs include Little Maker Weekday sessions and packages for multiple visits.
The art house hosts school day off camps providing full-day creative experiences during school breaks, as well as comprehensive summer camp programs with various themed weeks. Popular special events include Parent Night Out where kids can enjoy pizza dinner, Labubu-inspired art, and creative activities from 5:30-8:00 PM, Adult Craft Night for grown-ups, Tween Night for older children, and Beauty and Boba events.
Birthday parties are a specialty, with the venue providing an easy experience for parents that’s loved by kids and all around adorable. The staff is friendly, helpful, and passionate about helping kids explore their innate creativity and find their inner artist.
Both co-founders have professional backgrounds in art education – Song holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a potter and freelance graphic designer, while Choi brings extensive teaching experience. Their combined expertise in child development, art education, and curriculum design sets the studio apart as a professionally run space that’s not just a hobby grown into a business.
The art house is easily accessible in the Lincoln Square neighborhood with contact available via phone and email. The facility also features on Instagram where they share updates about events, camp themes, and special programming.
