The foundation provides comprehensive educational programming, mentorship, resources, and support from middle school through medical residency.
The CPASS Mini-Medical Schools program serves 4th and 5th grade students with hands-on experiments and body systems education through partnership with Rush University. The STEMM Scholars Academy offers Illinois high school students a fully-funded three-year immersive experience including a five-week residential summer session designed to cultivate academic excellence, build professional networks, and strengthen college readiness for healthcare and STEMM careers.
The Chicago Area Health and Medical Careers Program (CAHMCP, “Champs”) supports underrepresented medical students in Illinois with resources and mentorship including MCAT test preparation assistance, residency interview travel support, and professional development throughout their medical education and careers. The program has operated since 1979, originally at Illinois Institute of Technology.
Additional programs include MAPSCorps, GSU STEAM Camp, STEMM Parent Academy for families, and Saturday Academy sessions providing college prep workshops and college credit opportunities. The foundation maintains a searchable database of STEMM programs throughout Illinois and publishes resources including study guides for STEMM students.
