Profile
Intercultural Montessori offers a unique educational experience that combines dual-language education with the Montessori approach at two campus locations in Chicago and Oak Park. The school develops global citizens through immersive language learning paired with child-centered Montessori methodology, serving students from toddler age through middle school.
The school’s distinctive dual-language program offers instruction in Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic, allowing families to choose which language pathway their child will pursue. This language immersion is integrated throughout the Montessori curriculum, creating an environment where students naturally develop bilingual proficiency while exploring academics.
Intercultural Montessori serves four age groups through their comprehensive programs. The Toddler program welcomes the youngest learners, while the Early Childhood program builds foundational skills through hands-on Montessori materials. The Elementary program continues the Montessori approach with more complex academic work, and the Middle School program prepares students for high school success while maintaining the dual-language focus.
The Chicago campus is located on South Racine Avenue, while the Oak Park campus operates on South Ridgeland Avenue. Both campuses feature indoor and outdoor learning environments designed to foster natural curiosity and exploration. Extended care and extracurricular activities are available, and the school offers a summer camp program. The Montessori approach emphasizes independence, practical life skills, and collaborative learning, with students working with specially designed materials that encourage discovery and critical thinking. The school is accredited by the American Montessori Society.
