Janelle Lake is a professional harpist and music educator offering comprehensive harp instruction and performance services throughout the Chicago area. As the founder and manager of the Southwest Chicago Symphony Orchestra, she brings together diverse musical traditions.
Her teaching services include private harp lessons for students ages four and up, with expertise as a registered Suzuki teacher for harp books 1-5. Lessons incorporate theory, history, technical study, and clear practice assignments. She maintains a large and diverse private studio in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago and teaches at Loyola University. Her students have won multiple awards including scholarships to Brown University and first place at the Greater Chicago Chapter of the American Harp Society competition.
Performance services include weddings (with 20+ years of experience across multiple denominations), special events (teas, engagement parties, funerals, dinner parties, anniversary parties, birthday parties), recitals, outreach programs, and editing/arranging services.
