Junior Chefs Kitchen

Junior Chefs Kitchen is a hands-on cooking class studio located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood that infuses culinary education with comprehensive nutrition education for children ages 2-18. The organization believes in increasing access to essential health information about food and nutrition by empowering youth with cooking skills and healthy eating resources that benefit people, the planet, and the community.

The studio offers semester-based weekly classes that run for one hour, featuring hands-on cooking, nutrition education, and skill-building activities where students enjoy their culinary creations. A new tiered curriculum builds week by week, culminating in a Master Chef Celebration where students showcase their progress. All recipes are chef-tested and registered dietitian approved, ensuring both delicious results and nutritional value.

Summer camp programming for 2026 will be available at both the Lincoln Park location on North Lincoln Avenue and the new West Loop location on West Van Buren opening in early 2026. Camps provide action-packed 6-hour days filled with cooking, nutrition education, crafting, friendship building, physical movement, and community development. Day off camps are also available throughout the school year and listed in the calendar. The organization has published a digital cookbook featuring 35 kid-approved recipes designed to help children explore new foods through deconstructed and beloved meals, with most recipes taking under 30 minutes.

Birthday parties at Junior Chefs Kitchen run 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing the birthday child and friends to make their recipe of choice, celebrate with cupcakes, and build lasting memories. The studio also offers after-school enrichment programs that can be brought directly to school settings, Date Night programs for semester registrants where parents can enjoy evenings out while children are provided dinner and entertainment, and seasonal pop-up events featuring collaborations with local businesses.
