Le Ballet Petit School of Dance

Le Ballet Petit School of Dance is a neighborhood dance studio located in the Ravenswood Manor area of Chicago that has been offering dance lessons and performance opportunities to dancers of all ages and skill levels since 1954. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization, the school is dedicated to providing quality dance education and performance opportunities to students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin.

The studio offers classes in multiple dance disciplines including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, and stretch and strength training. Dancers can begin as early as age 3 and continue dancing well into their senior years. One of the school’s core values is the belief that everyone can dance and everyone can perform, creating an inclusive community environment for all skill levels.

Throughout the year, Le Ballet Petit presents several productions including an annual June Show that showcases all students as each class performs, The Nutcracker performed every winter, and rotating classical spring ballets such as Swan Lake, Cinderella, and Coppelia. These full-length story ballet productions provide wonderful opportunities to introduce young children to the magnificence of classical dance. The school also maintains the LBP Dance Company, a performance group of advanced dancers that performs throughout the Chicagoland area. Performance workshop opportunities are offered at the studio, allowing students to develop confidence and stage presence in a supportive environment.
