Profile
Lil Sluggers Chicago is a premier youth baseball development program designed to prepare boys and girls ages 2 through 8 for their journey into organized team play by improving and developing their social and physical skills both on and off the field. Established in 2009, the program focuses on basic baseball fundamentals including throwing, fielding, hitting, catching, and base running as the core of the curriculum.
The energetic pace of classes and small player-to-coach ratios distinguish Lil Sluggers from other sports programs. The organization prides itself on minimizing wait time between turns, which results in more action, more learning, and more fun for participants. This approach, combined with years of experience and genuine love for the game, has made Lil Sluggers one of the best youth sports programs for kids in Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
The program operates at multiple indoor and outdoor locations including BASH Sports Academy in Roscoe Village, The Sport House in Hyde Park/South Loop, and Holstein Park in Bucktown. Classes and coach-pitch instructional leagues build confidence, reinforce team play, teach cooperation, and help foster a real love for the game. The philosophy emphasizes having fun first, building confidence second, and learning baseball third, in that order. The organization offers various session options throughout the year including winter sessions, spring programs, Saturday Lil League for game experience, and special holiday camps. Advanced baseball classes and private lessons are also available for ages 9 and up through the affiliated Sluggers Baseball Chicago program.
