Lillstreet Art Center is Chicago’s largest visual arts center, celebrating 50 years of enabling the love of craft since 1975. This thriving creative community provides an alternative space to create, connect, and find community in a friendly environment that encourages artistic growth. The expansive three-level facility at 4401 North Ravenswood Avenue features 25 classrooms, over 50 artist studios, state-of-the-art equipment, and offers more than 800 art classes and workshops annually.
Lillstreet offers multilevel classes and workshops for both children and adults in ceramics, metalsmithing and jewelry, glass blowing, drawing and painting, printmaking and book arts, textiles, digital arts, and photography. The center features an artist-in-residence program, a gallery showcasing local and national artwork, studio rental spaces, and a community outreach program. Students of all skill levels from first-timers to professionals work side-by-side in this supportive artistic community.
Additional amenities include an artisan gift shop featuring unique handcrafted items and a cafรฉ for refreshments. Lillstreet hosts free events throughout the year including open houses, art fairs, and gallery receptions. The Kidstreet program provides creative learning experiences for children ages 3-16 where they can express themselves artistically while building social, critical thinking, and technical skills in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. Family workshops welcome ages 5 and up to learn and create together. Birthday parties offer themed ceramics experiences including unicorns, dinosaurs, and superheroes.
