McFetridge Sports Center

McFetridge Sports Center is a comprehensive sports and recreation facility operated by the Chicago Park District and managed by Legends Global. Located in Chicago’s California Park, this multi-purpose center offers year-round programming for all ages across multiple sports and activities.

The facility features an ice rink that hosts hockey and ice skating programs throughout the year. Hockey offerings include learn-to-skate classes, youth hockey programs through the Chicago River Dogs organization, adult league hockey, rat hockey sessions, stick and puck practice times, and public skating sessions. The ice skating program provides classes from beginner through advanced levels, freestyle ice time, private lessons, and synchronized skating through the Chicago Skates program with over 30 years of tradition.

Indoor tennis courts offer year-round tennis programming including group classes for all ages and skill levels, private lessons, junior team tennis, court time reservations, and rating clinics. The center has also added pickleball programming with classes, private lessons, and court reservations available.

Additional programming includes dance classes covering various styles with seasonal recitals and showcases, wellness classes featuring yoga for adults and youth, fitness classes, and tai chi. All programs are designed to accommodate different skill levels from beginners to advanced participants.

The facility provides amenities including locker rooms, spectator seating, a pro shop for equipment needs, and ample parking. Registration for all programs is handled through the Chicago Park District’s online system. The center serves as a community hub for sports and recreation, hosting leagues, classes, camps, parties, and special events throughout the year. Professional staff members lead all programming with expertise in their respective sports and activities.
