Musical Chairs Studio

Musical Chairs Studio is a boutique performing arts school located in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood, offering comprehensive music and theater instruction for children and adults. The studio provides private lessons in nearly every instrument including piano, voice, guitar, violin, viola, cello, ukulele, mandolin, bass, percussion, saxophone, trumpet, flute, and clarinet. Students can participate in ensembles including the Musical Chairs Theater Company, String Orchestra, and Rock Band Coaching programs.

The studio emphasizes a nurturing and supportive environment with a holistic approach to music education. Performance opportunities are plentiful, including Open Mic Nights at Borelli’s Pizzeria and formal recitals, all conducted in a non-stressful atmosphere. The studio offers special programs such as Serenading Seniors, where students perform for senior living communities, and Play it Forward scholarship programs for underprivileged children.

Summer programming features day camps, weekly classes, and theater productions. The studio has been celebrating over 20 years of music education in Chicago, having grown from one teacher and ten students to a team of 22 professional instructors serving over 400 students. Musical Chairs also provides after-school enrichment programs in nearby public and private schools and preschools. Leadership development opportunities are available for high school students through mentorship programs. The studio maintains a 12:1 student-teacher ratio to ensure personalized attention and tailored instruction for each student’s individual learning style and goals.
