Russian School of Mathematics – Chicago

Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) is an award-winning after-school math enrichment program that has been empowering K-12 students to achieve academic excellence for over 25 years. The Chicago area locations provide a rigorous mathematics curriculum based on elite math schools from the former Soviet Union, adapted for the American educational environment.

RSM uses the study of mathematics as a vehicle to develop students’ math fluency, intellect, and character. The program goes beyond traditional tutoring by teaching students to think critically and derive solutions rather than simply memorize formulas. Students are guided to build on what they already know, introducing new concepts step-by-step while developing deep understanding and problem-solving abilities.

The curriculum offers multiple levels for every grade, from kindergarten through 12th grade, including elementary programs for K-2 and 3-5, middle school programs covering algebra and geometry with formal proofs, high school programs in advanced algebraic and geometric concepts plus calculus, and selective competition programs for students who excel.
