Profile
Shredder Ski Chicago North Side is the city’s first indoor ski and snowboard school, bringing year-round snow sports instruction to families without requiring mountain travel. Located in Old Irving Park, this innovative facility features dry indoor ski slopes where children ages 1-18+ can learn skiing and snowboarding fundamentals in a safe, climate-controlled environment. The school’s experienced instructors use industry-leading PSIA-AASI principles to build confidence, knowledge, and proficiency through age-appropriate teaching methods.
The program offers multiple class levels tailored to developmental stages. Yeti School (ages 1-3) provides parent-child sessions emphasizing play-based learning and early development. Little Shredders (ages 3-5) focuses on independence and the total ski/snowboard experience through fun, engaging instruction. The main Snowboard & Ski program (ages 5-10) allows children to strengthen skills, sharpen knowledge, and improve confidence at their own pace. The curriculum translates directly to outdoor mountain abilities, preparing students for real slope experiences.
Beyond regular weekly classes, Shredder offers flexible summer camps during school breaks, holiday camps throughout the year, birthday party packages, open gym sessions for practice time, and private lessons for personalized instruction. Parents Night Out events provide caregiving while kids enjoy ski activities. The facility includes comfortable WiFi-enabled viewing areas where parents can watch their children’s progress. Classes run in multi-week sessions with intentional student-to-instructor ratios ensuring quality instruction and safety.
