University of Chicago Laboratory Schools – Summer Lab

Summer Lab is Chicago’s premier summer day camp with over 75 years of experience in summer programming. The program combines the resources and faculty of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools with exciting programs offered by experts from across the city, all taking place in an unparalleled university setting.

Summer Lab offers comprehensive programs for children from Nursery 3 through Grade 8, with age-appropriate activities designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Programs include full-day sessions, Lab Adventurers, Lab Explorers, and specialized classes covering arts, science, sports, cooking, coding, and outdoor adventures. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, skill development, and making new friends in a supportive environment.

The program runs from late June through July with three distinct sessions plus a full session option. Features include complimentary bus transportation from various Chicago neighborhoods, complimentary lunch for full-day campers, late day childcare options, and scholarship assistance for eligible families. Summer Lab also offers a Counselor-in-Training program for rising 9th graders, providing valuable leadership and employment preparation experience.
