Piven Theatre Workshop

Piven Theatre Workshop has encouraged students to think creatively, foster empathy, be bold, and communicate more sophisticatedly for over fifty years. Located in Evanston, Illinois, the mission of Piven Theatre Workshop is to encourage a process of creative exploration that celebrates each individual’s unique voice through an ensemble-based, community-oriented approach to theatre training and performance.

The Workshop has helped students of all ages and skill levels increase their success in theatrical performances and off-stage situations through the power of play. Piven offers comprehensive theatre classes for both youth and adults, with programming designed to develop creativity, confidence, and communication skills through ensemble-based theatrical techniques.

Youth classes provide age-appropriate theatre training that helps young people build confidence, social skills, and creative expression. Summer theatre camps offer immersive experiences during school breaks, allowing students to explore theatre arts in an intensive format. Adult theatre classes welcome participants of all experience levels to discover the transformative power of theatrical training.

Piven also offers corporate improv training programs that bring theatrical techniques into business settings. These programs help organizations develop better communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills.
