Four Point Play is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching health and wellness through basketball while creating positive change in the lives of young athletes and their families in the Chicagoland area. Founded in 2013, the organization focuses on fortifying individuals’ mind, body, and spirit through sports.
The organization provides multiple basketball programming options centered on youth development. AAU basketball teams offer competitive platforms for 4th through 8th grade students during spring and summer seasons, featuring intense training, quality coaching, mentoring, and tournament play. Teams hold tryouts before each season, including the Firestars basketball team program.
Open gym sessions provide structured free play in a safe environment where youth can practice basketball fundamentals according to their skill level. These sessions include fun activities, mentorship, prizes, and giveaways to encourage participation and engagement.
The organization hosts special basketball clinics and events including summer kick-off clinics and back-to-school clinics that serve over 100 youth boys and girls ages 7-18. These free events provide athletic equipment, school supplies, and basketball instruction to the community.
Mental health programming is incorporated through virtual or in-person meetups that equip athletes with tools and resources for mental resilience, emotional stability, and overall wellness. The organization emphasizes developing well-rounded athletes with strong character both on and off the court.
Four Point Play partners with various organizations including Laureus Sport for Good, Walther Christian Academy, Junior NBA, NLARA, UCAN Chicago, and AMPT. The organization is led by founder Andrรฉ Lodrรฉe Jr., who serves as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Moody Bible Institute and has extensive basketball coaching experience.
All programming emphasizes academic achievement, family involvement, and creating a positive environment for youth development. The organization operates on donations and maintains a family-oriented approach to youth sports.
