The Art Center Highland Park is a not-for-profit organization serving as the North Shore’s home for artistic discovery and creative exploration since 1960. Through innovative programs, exhibitions, and classes designed for all levels and ages, The Art Center provides a welcoming space for diverse communities to experience and participate in the visual arts.
The center offers over 400 visual arts classes and workshops annually in photography, oil and acrylic painting, watercolor, pastel, mixed media painting, ceramics, jewelry making, metalsmithing, digital arts, fiber art, mosaics, assemblage, and more. Classes serve over 2,400 children, teens, adults, and senior citizens each year. The Art Center features three museum-quality gallery spaces showcasing high-quality, unique professional art with frequently changing exhibitions.
Summer art camps run for 9 weeks from June through August, offering 1-week and 3-week options in morning (9am-12pm) and afternoon (12:30-3:30pm) sessions. All skill levels are welcome. Special programs include wellness classes, figure drawing drop-in sessions, and community events such as Draw Together summer festival and the Recycled Art Sale. Student scholarships are offered each year for classes, workshops, and summer campsโthe center never turns down a scholarship. The facility includes galleries, classrooms, and studios, all fully accessible. Free admission to galleries ensures art is accessible to everyone.
