Profile
Wilton Sweet Studio is a professional baking and cake decorating school located at Wilton’s headquarters in Naperville, Illinois. Formerly known as The Wilton School of Cake Decorating, the studio has been teaching baking and confectionary arts for nearly a century, reopening in 2024 with a modern approach and comprehensive class offerings.
The studio provides hands-on baking and decorating classes for all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced students. Classes focus on teaching real techniques through individual practice, with each student receiving their own workstation and all necessary tools and materials. The facility is located on the 4th floor and features a fully equipped professional teaching kitchen.
Class offerings include cookies, cakes, cupcakes, seasonal and holiday-themed sessions, family classes, daytime classes, master classes, and kids’ programs. Popular topics include cookie decorating basics, buttercream techniques, fondant work, piping skills, cake construction, and specialized decorating methods. Many classes are themed around holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day.
Kids’ classes and camps teach children baking fundamentals including cookie decorating with frosting, piping, color blending, and simple designs. Each child gets their own workspace to explore real baking skills in a guided, supportive environment. Kids take home their creations along with recipes and tips for continued practice.
The studio also offers summer camps and spring break camps for children, providing multi-day immersive experiences. Camp registration includes all materials, and students receive their own Sweet Studio apron. Snacks are provided during camps, and students should bring water bottles.
Classes are taught by Wilton’s faculty of baking and decorating professionals, including Executive Pastry Chef Walleska Cianfanelli. The instruction prioritizes process over perfection while delivering dependable results through the proven Wilton Method. Students learn practical skills they can use at home.
The studio enforces a cellphone minimization policy during classes to maintain focus, though cameras are welcome for capturing technique details. Video recording is only permitted when documenting final creations. All students must complete a waiver before participating.
