The North Suburban YMCA is a community-centered charitable non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening youth, healthy living, and social responsibility. Established in 1960 and located in Northbrook, Illinois, the YMCA provides individuals in Northbrook and 14 surrounding communities with programs and tools that help them become healthier, more connected, and confident.
The facility features state-of-the-art amenities including a modern fitness center with cardio, strength, free weights, and circuit training equipment, a six-lane 25-yard heated indoor swimming pool, a full-sized gymnasium, three racquetball courts, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, and a running track. Members have access to unlimited group exercise classes including yoga, Les Mills programs, cycling, cardio and strength training, and aqua fitness.
The YMCA offers comprehensive programming for all ages. Youth programs include preschool, afterschool clubhouse programs, Y-Time, Y-Camp, and Navigator Nights. The organization provides diverse recreational and cultural activities including music, dance, visual arts, gymnastics, martial arts, and various sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer, and volleyball. Special services include HAWKS STEAM programs, Special Olympics, and special needs art expression.
Adult programming features fitness classes, active adults programs, chronic disease prevention, lifelong learning opportunities, and adult sports leagues. The YMCA also offers aquatics programs with swim lessons for all ages, swim teams, lifeguard training, and private lessons. Summer camp programs provide enriching experiences for children ages 2-13.
The North Suburban YMCA believes that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. The organization offers financial assistance programs to ensure accessibility for all community members.
