Park District of Oak Park – Gymnastics

The Park District of Oak Park Gymnastics & Recreation Center offers instructional programs that provide opportunities for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy gymnastics from preschool programs to competitive levels. Comparable to any private club, the GRC can meet the needs of any new or experienced gymnast with state-of-the-art facilities.

The center offers a wide range of recreational classes for toddlers through adults. Early childhood gymnastics programs are available for children ages 2-5, providing age-appropriate introduction to movement and basic gymnastics skills. Recreational gymnastics classes follow a progressive skill development curriculum with careful attention spent on class placement to ensure all students have a rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Competitive team programs are available for both boys and girls, serving Levels 3-10. The competitive teams provide advanced training for dedicated gymnasts looking to compete at various levels. Open gym sessions allow drop-in access to all gymnastics amenities during scheduled times.

The center also offers special programming including Parents’ Night Out, where caretakers can enjoy an evening away while kids have a blast with supervised activities. Preschool Playtime provides a special open gym time for children ages 1-5 to climb, play, and run in a safe environment. Birthday party packages are available for those looking to host a fun, active celebration.

The facility features multiple sessions throughout the year following a typical school year calendar, including fall (16 weeks), winter, spring, and shorter 4-week summer sessions to accommodate travel schedules. Mini sessions of 3-5 weeks are offered year-round for those wanting to try gymnastics without committing to a full session.
