The Center

The Center in Palos Park is a unique 60-acre retreat and community facility dedicated to giving people of all faiths, backgrounds, and ages the space to dream, grow, and become fully alive—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The property features the historic Wayside Chapel for weddings, vespers, baptisms, and memorial services, along with extensive nature trails for peaceful walks and exploration.

The Children’s Farm offers hands-on educational experiences where families can interact with farm animals, participate in guided tours, and learn about sustainable agriculture and animal care. The facility operates the Farm & Nature Discovery School, a preschool program for children ages 3-6 that provides a unique opportunity to learn through exploration of the natural environment with highly qualified teachers.

The Center offers comprehensive summer camp programming including farm and nature-based camps for children ages 1-17, with options for both day camps and overnight experiences. The Log Cabin Center for the Arts hosts rotating art exhibitions and classes. Additional programming includes retreats, rehabilitation services, yoga, community events, and special seasonal activities like Easter egg hunts and harvest celebrations. The facility provides a nurturing, language-rich environment that promotes developmental growth across all domains while connecting children and families with nature and community.
