The Exploritorium, named Chicagoland’s “Top Rainy Day Destination” by the Chicago Tribune, is an interactive indoor play space operated by Skokie Park District where children and adults explore together through hands-on activities. Recommended for toddlers through age 6, the facility provides a safe, engaging environment for creative play and development.
The 15,000 square foot space features multiple themed areas including Tiny Town (a miniature village for make-believe play), a Water Play Area with water vortex, Transportation Station with trains, a two-and-a-half-story tube and tunnel climbing structure, a giant “Lite Brite” Wall, the Tic-Tok Ball Track, and a dedicated Toddler Zone for the youngest visitors. All areas encourage exploration, physical activity, and imaginative play.
The Exploritorium offers special programming including Paint & Play sessions, Storybook Corner, Playdough Playtime, Parent-Tot Yoga, and Kid’s Night Out events. The venue is available for birthday parties with private party rooms, and group visits are accommodated on Thursdays with a minimum of 20 people. A lunchroom is available for groups at an additional fee.
All birthday party supplies, tables, chairs, and entertainment spaces are provided. The facility allows outside food and maintains a nut-free policy. Free parking is available on-site. The Exploritorium provides a welcoming, club-like community atmosphere with trained staff actively supervising and engaging with children.
