Fonseca Martial Arts – Wilmette

Fonseca Martial Arts is a premier martial arts training facility that has been serving the Chicagoland area for over 20 years, with locations across Roscoe Village, Evanston, Wilmette, Chicago, Glenview, and Park Ridge. The dojos provide comprehensive instruction in traditional Japanese karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kobudō (weapons training), and self-defense for students of all ages and skill levels.

The programs cater to everyone from toddlers as young as 3 years old in the Karate Tots program to adults of all fitness levels. Little Dragons classes serve ages 4-6, Youth Karate for ages 7-12, and Adult Karate for ages 13 and up. The facility also offers specialized programs including KIAI (Karate Including All Individuals) for students with special needs and Kick Out PD, a specialized program for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.

Students train in state-of-the-art facilities with highly experienced instructors, including world-class athletes and championship competitors. The curriculum emphasizes the Bushido code tenets of integrity, respect, courage, honor, compassion, honesty, and loyalty. Training focuses on developing physical skills including kicks, punches, throws, joint locks, and submission techniques, while also building mental discipline, confidence, and leadership abilities.

Fonseca Martial Arts offers flexible membership options with no long-term contracts, allowing students to attend classes at any of their five convenient locations. The dojos provide opportunities for students to participate in tournaments through the Competition Team program, and host special events and birthday parties. Students progress through a structured belt ranking system with regular testing opportunities.
