Profile
Wiz Kids Foundation operates premier day camp programs serving students in grades 1 through 8 across multiple Chicago and suburban locations. The foundation provides summer enrichment programming designed to foster growth and build lasting relationships through a unique blend of academic excellence and active recreation.
The camp experience includes a structured daily schedule that combines morning academic sessions with afternoon electives, creating an engaging environment where children can explore new skills and discover hidden talents. Academic offerings focus heavily on STEM-focused learning, including advanced modules, coding, and robotics, while also incorporating creative arts activities such as theater and arts programs.
Each camper participates in competitive athletics and sports programs throughout the week, promoting physical fitness and teamwork. The program concludes each week with exciting field trips to top regional destinations, including world-class museums and parks, ensuring that learning continues outside the classroom setting.
With multiple campus locations including Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in the West Loop, Homewood-Flossmoor High School, and sites in Lake View, Western Suburbs, and South Suburbs, Wiz Kids provides accessible summer programming across the Chicagoland area. The foundation maintains low camper-to-teacher ratios with experienced professional teachers and select counselors in each class, creating a responsive, safe, and enriching environment.
Founded in 2009, what began as a small gathering of 14 students has grown into a thriving community with over 400 young learners joining every summer. The organization operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to create environments that give young people opportunities to have life-impacting experiences both athletically and academically.
