Profile
Rock ‘n’ Kids provides music and movement classes for young children, offering fun, high-energy programs that help little ones explore music, rhythm, and creativity. The organization has been serving families throughout Chicagoland for years, with classes taught by 17 incredible instructors across 69 park districts and 7 preschools, serving over 3,454 families with 6,915 registrations annually.
Classes are available for children ages 3 months to 5 years, with age-appropriate programming including Baby Rock (3-12 months), Tot Rock (1-2 years), Kid Rock (3-4 years), and Family Rock (multi-age). Each class uses purposeful play – music and movement activities designed to support early development through fun and creativity.
The program builds coordination, rhythm, and focus while strengthening confidence and social skills. Classes boost balance, movement, and motor skills, encourage memory, listening, and following directions, and inspire joy because children learn best when they’re having fun. Sessions typically run for 4-6 weeks, following school year calendars with fall, winter, and spring sessions, plus shorter summer programs.
Rock ‘n’ Kids classes are offered at various park districts throughout the Chicago area rather than at a single location. Families register through their local park district’s website and attend classes at their chosen park district facility. The organization provides a Family Updates page where enrolled families can stay informed about class updates, announcements, and highlights.
In addition to regular classes, Rock ‘n’ Kids offers Kid Rock ‘n’ Roll birthday parties, perfect for celebrations and special events. The parties can be customized for various occasions and provide active, musical entertainment for young children.
The organization also operates Music for the Ages, providing musical programming for seniors, demonstrating a commitment to serving multiple generations through the power of music.
