Steve & Kate’s Camp – North Center

Steve & Kate’s Camp – North Center is a summer day camp operating out of Coonley Elementary in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood. Serving children ages 4 through 15, this location offers Steve & Kate’s full roster of self-directed activities along with the Mentorship Program for teens, making it one of the more comprehensive sites in the Chicago area.

The camp experience at North Center revolves around child-led exploration across multiple activity stations. Campers can immerse themselves in the Media Lab to create stop-motion animations, explore coding, or produce digital content. The Sewing Salon offers hands-on textile and fashion design projects, while the Bakery provides real cooking and baking experiences. Sports and recreation activities round out the offerings, with water games available weather permitting. Weekly special events include inflatable attractions, carnival celebrations, and themed activity days that add variety throughout the summer.

North Center participates in the Mentorship Program for teens ages 14-15, offering a structured leadership development experience where participants help facilitate camp activities under staff supervision. For Summer 2026, Mentorship Day Passes are priced at $98, with a discounted rate of $84 for packages of 15 or more, and a full Summer Pass at $2,520. Standard camper enrollment follows the flexible Day Pass model, with all fees covering lunch, snacks, and the full camp day from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Unused passes are automatically refunded at summer’s end. This location also hosts Spring Break Camp sessions. Bright Horizons Back-Up Care benefits are accepted, and financial aid is available for qualifying families.
