Music House School of Performing Arts

Music House Chicago operates Artist Playhouse Summer Camp, an exciting multi-disciplinary arts experience for children ages 4-11 designed for young artists of all experience levels. The camp blends music, dance, theater, and visual art into a playful, supportive environment where kids explore, imagine, and express themselves creatively.

Operating from two Chicago locations in Humboldt Park and West Rogers Park, the camp provides comprehensive arts education beyond traditional single-discipline camps. The integrated approach helps children make connections between movement, sound, storytelling, and visual expression while encouraging curiosity and collaboration.

Each week centers around fun, age-appropriate themes inspiring exploration through theater games, rhythm activities, dance exploration, art projects, and group creativity. Campers form small creative groups practicing teamwork, communication, and problem-solving as they bring ideas to life. The week culminates with low-pressure sharing performances celebrating the creative process where every child experiences the stage.

Daily programming includes rock band formation, instrument instruction (ukulele and others), visual art classes with sculpture making and painting, musical theater scene devising, hip hop dance, outdoor games, and free time. Small groups of no more than 10 campers ensure safe environments and individualized attention allowing students to develop new skills and creative tools.

The camp is led by experienced teaching artists with degrees in their fields who value creating and teaching equally. Instructors foster inclusive, nurturing environments where children feel safe taking creative risks, trying new things, and being themselves. No prior experience in music, dance, theater, or art is required.

Camp runs 9am-4pm with early drop-off starting at 8am and late pickup until 5pm available for additional fees. Every Friday at 4pm features performances for family and friends in casual, low-stakes environments designed to build confidence.
